Babble, babble of the nightfrights.

How our bad dreams might save us
Is a question rooted
In the dark turns of determinism
And how we would never have known
Should we never have bled.
It's not an easy concession
To rename every cheap turn
Precious because of the outcome
It's not an easy concession
To claim that everytime we wasted
Our time and our selves on mistakes
Was a staggering step closer
Towards the face of that moonlit tower
Where our paths converged.
"I had to be seen like this
many times to get here"
And though it hurts
Was I any different?
It's easy to confess
I'd rather we were born knowing
But it bites the lip to accept
The inevitability
The necessity of scars
Like a roadmap to happiness
Drawn by rogues, thieves and lunatics
To guide us here
To drive us away
To bring us today.

I'll never thank them
For never was their purpose this gift
I'll never forgive them
For never was their cause our ascend.
Still, better a hard concession
Than an easy gratitude
Than a casual forgiveness
And an unknowing lack of you.
